With more than 20 years of experience in life science company leadership, Lisa Giles founded Giles & Associates Consultancy, Inc. in 2000. She also founded Optivara, Inc. in 2013. Giles oversees the consulting practices and project teams — and she also works closely with leadership teams across client engagements.
Prior to forming GAC and Optivara, Giles was Vice President of Strategy Development for Searle Pharmaceuticals, where she handled global pharmaceutical strategic planning, internal consulting, marketing research, portfolio decision analysis, life science portfolio optimization, and merger and transaction analysis. Before joining Searle, Giles was a partner with Business Strategy Consulting LLC, and held leadership positions with Abbott Laboratories in marketing and strategic planning, business development and operations for Abbott Diagnostics, Hospital Products, and Corporate Hospital Marketing Divisions. She started her career in the executive management development program at Ralston Purina Company. Giles holds a BS from Juniata College, and EMP from Stanford University and University of Chicago. She serves on the board of directors for GenMark Dx (GNMK), Northwestern Memorial Foundation, and The Emeritus Auxiliary Board of the Art Institute of Chicago.
In 2010, Giles accepted the Enterprising Women of the Year award from Enterprising Women Magazine. In 2015, she joined the ranks of PharmaVoice's "Pharma100 – Most Influential People in Life Sciences."
